Final Episode 2006-2007

Well, we finally finished the last episode of the school year 2006-07. We worked really hard meeting our goals with this one. You will notice a significant difference from our first episode with the introduction tag line, bumper music for a few of the segments, and added interview spots. We hope you enjoyed listening to CMS Sharkscast this year as we basically experimented and taught ourselves how to pull off a podcast. We have so much more to learn, but have a much better base for 2007-08. Until then, enjoy Episode 4.

Why Homebase News Is Important?

Doing the homebase news in our podcast is very important for 6th grade. I think its very important because it shares news about the points and it also advises students on how to raise their homebase points. It helps to remind them to wear their shirts on intramurals day too. Having homebase news gives people important information.

Sports

CMS sports is going well. The Cassia games are coming. CMS is going to be the host for those few wonderful days. It is predicted that this year we aren't going to lose. Basketball and soccer are what's going to make us winners.

Sincerely,

Your Sports Host (fv)

Doing this podcast has been great! We have learned how to express ourselves better, read our script more clearly and talk(louder)! The only thing I really think needs improvement is that on the podcast we need more music for every segment before the hosts talk! We love people listening to us! It is great to hear comments and on which level people think we are on! Well let's keep the improvements up and each time do it better and better!!!

Actors Wold 2

We feel very excited because now we are putting music into our podcast! We are also putting a picture of all of us in our blog. We think it is getting better each time, but we are still nervous of making a mistake when we are recording . (That happens to me all the time!) We are so proud of eachother ... so keep it up literacy group!

Fashion

Right now what I like about podcasting is that you get to actually say something and everyone can hear from everywhere in the world. I think that is the most amazing thing. Well that´s all for now!!

Nervous and Proud

The podcast has been something very fun and a great skill to learn. Our first time we did this it was a nervous thing to handle. But after we were done and we listened to ourselves..guess what??? We ended up being happy and very proud of ourselves! I hope I can re-do this bunches of times. It is wonderful!! With this I learned that the more nervous you feel at the beginning the happiest and proudest you feel at the end!

The Experience of Sports

This project has been fun. Some things I learned is that the hardest part is the speech part. Looking for information is the easiest because we just search the paper for the games.

Like Ms. Wagner has said, we improved a lot from the first to the second. We were very happy to be in a podcast, but also were very nervous. This blog is helping us alot to write about what we have learned and express our feelings. The podcast also allows people to leave comments that they that like it and we feel very proud of it. Thanks for listening to us. We hope you like it as we like it.

Well, we only have done 2 podcasts and it has been the most wonderful thing I have done this school year. I love podcasting. It's so fun when you search for information. And the most amazing is that you are kind of famous because the whole world can listen to you! I also love this because you can work together and help each other and your partner can even say to you in what areas you need to improve. So its like teamwork! And I love teamwork.

My Experience Doing a Podcast

Doing my first podcast was scary because I didn't know how it would turn out. After doing our first podcast everybody had goals for the second podcast such as speak clearly and use more expression. In the second podcast everyone achieved their goals and it turned out much better.

From my point of view this has been the funnest thing I have ever done. It was also kind of freaky when I found out the whole middle school was gong to listen to it. But I am vey proud of my work. It has been pretty challenging for me andI am sure it has been Ms. Wagner's worst dream, because she is always saying that she is very scared of technology. But it has been vey fun.
By your host.
The podcast is a really fun thing to do and also there's something I don't like too. I like the podcast because t's the first time I have done some thing like this. Blogging is really kind of fun. But the part I dont like about podcasting is the part I start talking. It's really hard to improve my talking but I'll do my best so I get better at it!

Camara Action

Hello. Now that I'm blogging I will be writing you a little of what's happening in the actor's careers, but for more details you'll have to listen to our podcast. Plz tune in for our next episode. Toodles!

2nd Episode

After our first episode we critiqued our podcast and performance. From that we came up with a list of goals to accomplish by the end of the year - ranging from bumper music in the podcast to pictures for our blog. Each student then had to select one personal goal to work on.
This time around has been awesome to watch. The students are all enthusiastically working towards their personal goal. Whether it be focusing on their word choice, using more expression, or speaking clearly these kids are completely active in the process of achieving their goals. From editing their writing to practicing in front of a peer, I've never seen this class so engaged and willing to work together. It's great to see.

Finally Done!!

Wow, podcasts aren't easy. After a lot of work my lit skills class is happy to put out its first podcast. It's a little rough around the edges, but we had a good time doing it. We look forward to it getting easier and more creative with time. Because the process took longer than anticipated, some of the information is out of date. This, as well, we suspect will be smoother for our next time around. Until then, we hope you enjoy the show. The kids would love to hear some of your comments.

Update

Some people have notified me that when they click on the link to my sample podcast they get a login screen from the school. We are working to solve this problem and I'll let you know when it's fixed.

My First Time...

I am completely new to the world of blogging so with the help of the ES Technology Facilitator here at Carol Morgan School, I am finally on my way. I have made my first MP3 file using Audacity which to my surprise I really liked doing. It is my plan to have my Literature Skills class compose and publish a bi-weekly newsletter in the form of a podcast. While I still have a lot to learn about using the software and RSS feeds and publishing our podcasts to the outside world, I am excited that I finally am taking that first step and using these new web 2.0 applications in my class. Click here to listen to the sample podcast I made to get used to using the software, editing, and adding an audio track.
